Bloodborne
Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission

This
newly-updated course meets OSHA's revised Bloodborne Pathogens
Standard. This course teaches participants how bloodborne
pathogens are spread, how to prevent exposures and what to do if
exposed to infectious materials.

Adult
CPR (3.5 hours)

The Adult
CPR course teaches one the skills and knowledge to care for an
adult who has stopped breathing, is choking, having a heart
attack, or whose pulse has stopped. It is taught as a
separate course and/or in several combinations For the
person who only needs adult CPR training, this hands-on skills
training prepares them to respond to breathing and cardiac
emergencies in victims aged 12

CPR (3.7 hours)

The Child
CPR course/module teaches one the skills and knowledge to care for
a child ( 1 to 12
year olds) who has stopped breathing, is choking,
or whose pulse has stopped. CPR for a child can be taught alone,
with the adult CPR in the Sports Safety Course, with the adult and

Infant
and Child CPR (4.5 hours)
($60 per Person)
Designed for
those who care for children, either full time or occasionally,
this course teaches participants how to recognize and care for
breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children up to 12
years. Participants take home a refresher skills card as well as
information about preventing injuries. Infant CPR is also
available separately as a 3 1/2 hour course that applies to
infants up to 12 months; Child CPR (4 hours) is available
separately and applies to children age 1 to 12
years.

Training
AED
- Automated External Defibrillation (1.5 hours) ($40 per Person)
This program
prepares one to add the use of an external Automated Defibrillator
to cardiac resuscitation efforts. It has been shown that early
recognition, CPR started promptly, early Defibrillation within
minutes, and followed with advanced cardiac life support will save
many more lives. This course teaches individuals currently
certified in Adult CPR how to safely use an AED to provide care
for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Place

FIRST AID Training
First Aid Basics (3.7
hours) ($40 per Person)
A course teaching the basic skills for injuries and sudden illness. Learn how to control bleeding and applying a pressure bandage, learn how to splint, what to do for burns, poisoning, fainting, and effects of heat and cold emergencies. A certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course, valid for three years.

usually scheduled for approximately 5.5 hours includes Adult CPR and
First Aid. The first aid portion prepares one to recognize and care for wounds, injuries, and sudden illnesses. Using
the key words - CHECK, CALL CARE. it prepares one to recognize a
medical emergency, safely check it out, call for appropriate help,
and to give care until EMS arrives. This first aid training can be

Community
First Aid and Safety (9.5
hours) ($95 per Person)
This course
combines lectures, demonstrations and video with hands-on training
and practice. Participants in this course learn to recognize
and respond to emergencies including shock, cardiac and breathing
emer- gencies for adults, children and infants, heat and cold
emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Additionally,
participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and
scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries.
This course
prepares one to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac
emergencies for adults, infants, and children. It includes the how
to identify and care for life-threatening bleeding, sudden
illnesses, and injuries. Course length is approximately nine
hours. The Community First Aid course will be scheduled in two
sessions. Each will be approximately four and one-half hours long.

Re-certification
The purpose
of this program is to provide an opportunity for a certified life-
guard to challenge the final tests. This will
update the Lifeguard and First Aid certifications for another 3
years. Annual CPR for the Professional Rescuer
certification is required. The length of this program will vary.
A challenge with no review or practice will of course take less
time than a review which includes viewing the videos, practice,
